DAUCUS CAROTA- Carrot oil. Used since 16 th century for skin diseases due to cleansing, depurative, and draining
properties. This carotene-rich emollient has been indicated for acne skin conditions, dermatitis, skin irritation, skin
rashes, and wrinkles, Derived from the carrot root.

DANDELION EXTRACT- has tonic properties, refreshes the skin, and corrects pH balance. It also increases
respiratory capacity of skin tissue. Dandelion extract is said to be beneficial for dry skin. It's a rich source of
vitamin B and Vitamin C.

DAISY EXTRACT- has tonic and astringent properties. Daisy was a component in a popular 14th century wound
ointment. This application continued through the centuries.

DRYOPTERIS SP.- Fern. Has cleansing and healing properties.

DIMETHICONE- a form of silicone used to give products lubricity, slip, and good feel. It also protects the skin
against moisture loss.

DL-ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL- vitamin E. Considered the most important oil-soluble antioxidant and free- radical
scavenger. In addition, vitamin E serves a preservative function due to its ability to protect against oxidation. It is
also considered to improve the skin’s water- binding ability. Many studies show that vitamin E topically applied prior
to UV irradiation is protective against epidermal cell damage due caused by inflammation.
DISODIUM EDTA - a preservative.

DISTILLED - the result of evaporating and subsequent condensation of a liquid, as
when water is boiled and steam is condensed.
